Reka Komoli is a Oxford-based visual artist working in the medium of digital photography. She is also a professional freelance photographer.
She is currently concentrating on the rich wildlife of the British Isles. Among her latest trips was a rewarding exploration of sites in the Scottish countryside. In her other projects she has been especially interested in ruins and the gothic genre as a vehicle for exploring the nature of identity and the spectral.
Reka is a member of the Royal Photographic Society and the Oxford Photographic Society. She was awarded her MA in Photographic Studies at the University of Westminster, London, in 2016, and is now in the final year of her PhD in Photography at Westminster. Her doctoral research project examines the scarred landscape of post-communist Hungary.
She has exhibited at galleries in London and Wivenhoe, and internationally in cities including New York, Budapest, Vilnius, and St Petersburg. Her publications include a book and calendars based around her photographs.
Alongside her continuing projects in art photography, she also undertakes commercial photographic work: portraits (of both people and pets), event photography, and photographs of historical urban sites.
